Drake is “angry” at Kendrick Lamar.
The One Dance hitmaker is reportedly “angry” after Lamar added fuel to their ongoing feud during the Super Bowl halftime show.
According to a source who spoke with Entertainment Tonight, the Canadian rapper is upset but is trying not to show it outwardly.
“He’s angry but is not trying to outwardly show it and is acting like he doesn’t care,” the insider shared with the outlet.
During the highly anticipated performance, Lamar performed two diss tracks aimed at Drake—Euphoria and his Grammy-winning hit Not Like Us.
The set also featured a surprise appearance from Serena Williams, who previously dated Drake, adding another layer to the already tense situation. With 126 million viewers tuning in, the moment quickly became a major talking point.
Another insider told DailyMail.com that Drake intentionally avoided watching the show and even instructed his friends to do the same.
“Drake put his friends on a Super Bowl ban and did not tune into the show,” the source revealed. “He was not able to stop Not Like Us from being played and wasn’t happy about it.”
Despite his frustration, Drake reportedly finds some relief in the mixed reception to Lamar’s performance.
“He knows it resonated with Kendrick’s target audience who have basically exiled him,” the insider continued.
“But he is happy that people weren’t impressed by Kendrick’s performance and is feeling better about his chances of a comeback—even if he does feel that he has lost some of his core fans.”
Social media reactions to Lamar’s performance were divided, with some fans expressing disappointment.
“Worst halftime show ever, not a fan,” one user commented. Another added, “I genuinely can’t tell if I’m being biased against Kendrick, but I think this is the worst halftime show I’ve seen in a minute.”
While Lamar seemingly declared “game over” at the end of his performance, the rap battle between him and Drake appears to be far from finished.
