Pune is known for its traditional cuisine like Puran Poli, Pithla Bhakri, Matki Ki Usal and Thalipith. However, it isn’t limited to these dishes. Pune’s food culture is also popular for being innovative and creating unique dishes like the Fire Pizza Puri.
There is usually a huge crowd flocking to Marne Bhel in Shukrawar Peth in Pune to try this special dish. Kiran Marne, owner of Marne Bhel, has been doing business for the last 17 years, serving different types of sandwiches, bhel and chaat.
“We started the business of bhel and pani puri in 2008. We started the concept of Fire Pizza Puri in 2011. This is the only place in Pune where this dish is available. This Fire Pizza Puri is made using sweet corn, onion, capsicum, pizza sauce and adding chaat masala on it. We have prepared this dish ourselves. This tasty Fire Pizza Puri was initially available for Rs 20. Now it is available for just Rs 60,” says Kiran Marne.
Along with Fire Pizza Puri, Bhel, Pani Puri, Paneer Tandoor Grill Sandwiches are also famous here. Masala Puri, Dahipuri, Ragda Puri are available from Rs 20 to Rs 60. There are also five to six different types of chaat available.
