Keith Urban shared rare insights into his and Taylor Swift’s past collaboration including teaming up for Fearless (Taylor’s Version).
In a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the country singer reflected on working with the pop singer.
While recalling his 2009 Escape Together World Tour when Swift opened the show for him, Urban remarked that the experience “was great.”
“She was amazing even back then. I would sit up front and watch her sing and I’m like, ‘Oh, she was singing way off into this other thing.’ You could see it. She was playing way past where she was already. It’s amazing,” Urban told Jennifer Hudson
During the show, Hudson replayed an older clip of the Lover singer performing as a member of band KISS for a prank.
“So I have a song called ‘Kiss a Girl,’ and on the last night of the tour, she came out dressed as Ace Frehley from the band KISS. I thought it was KISS for a minute. It was so good,” Urban noted.
Elsewhere in the chat, the Blue Ain’t Your Color singer also remembered the moment when Swift asked him to collaborate on the track That’s When, which was featured in Fearless (Taylor’s Version).
“She had a song she wanted me to do, and she just texted me and said, ‘I have a song that I want you to sing on,’ and I said, ‘Can you send me the song?” Urban explained adding that at the time he was at a mall.
“I’m sitting there with my AirPods in listening to this unreleased Taylor song. It was crazy,” he added.
