Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared an emotional moment at the Invictus Games when they met a very special four-legged guest.
On February 9, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the wheelchair curling event, where they were introduced to Thorn, a 3-year-old black Labrador retriever who provides mental health support for first responders in the Yukon.
The meeting stirred deep emotions for Harry and Meghan, who recently lost their beloved rescue beagle, Guy.
“Harry came right over and sat down right next to Thorn and kneeled down and started petting him and said how much he misses his dog,” Ali Harper, Thorn’s handler, told People. “And said thank you very much for what we do with Thorn.”
Meghan also shared a touching moment with the pup before joining in for a group photo.
Just last month, Meghan announced Guy’s passing in an emotional Instagram tribute, sharing heartfelt memories of the dog who had been with her through every major milestone — from Suits to motherhood.
The couple, known for their love of animals, still have their black Labrador, Pula, and another senior rescue beagle, Mamma Mia.
